Partner on Float for July 4th Coronado Parade
WHAT:
The Rotary Club of Coronado will create a Teddy Roosevelt and the “Rough Riders” themed float, and team up with the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station to have the Military Veteran-based Wolfpack Wheelchair Basketball team participate in the 74th Annual Independence Day Parade on Coronado Island on July 4th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Rotary Club of Coronado Parade Float will be followed by Wolfpack Wheelchair Basketball players (Warriors/Veterans), staff and volunteers following behind the parade float shooting baskets and entertaining
the crowd. The Wolfpack Wheelchair Basketball team is a championship-winning adaptive sports team supported by the Warrior Foundation. The military focused wheelchair basketball team competes across the U.S. and fields a roster of active duty, veteran and civilian players.
Rotary Club of Coronado conducts three major fundraisers aimed at benefiting local and international causes and raises approximately $130,000 per year and has donated more the $200,000 to the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station.
Additionally, the Rotary Club of Coronado sponsors or conducts
more than 10 youth focused perennial programs and participates in a dozen community focused activities.
