To be a foremost resource for stakeholders to gain awareness and contribute resources to support the critical, unmet needs of America's all-volunteer military service members, veterans and their families.

Founded in 2008, we are a volunteer community of accomplished people from all walks of life, supported by a professional and knowledgeable staff. Many of us have served in our nation's military, and we share a profound respect for those who wear our nation's uniform and a commitment to honor their duty and sacrifice. We are focused on leading the effort to deliver impactful resources to nonprofit service providers who support our nation's military and their families. Together, we strive to:

Together, we strive to:
Recognize the dedication and sacrifices made by our armed forces on behalf of their fellow Americans
Raise awareness, recognition and support for the growing needs of military families and veterans
Contribute funding, time, and other resources to nonprofit organizations that provide services to our military and veterans
Fill the gaps not covered by government programs in meeting the current and future needs of our military families and veterans

The Patriots Initiative (TPI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Answers The Call by focusing its efforts on evaluating and providing support to dozens of different military nonprofit organizations across the nation. These nonprofit agencies we have carefully evaluated and accredited provide significant, effective services and programs specifically tailored for active duty military families, wounded warriors, and veterans.

The TPI Board of Directors is comprised of proven professional and community leaders, many of whom have served in the military. The mission of TPI has been carried forward by a dedicated professional staff, which has raised charitable funds to support and honor marines, sailors, airmen, soldiers and their families.

TPI Partners have also answered the call by volunteering time and talents to many of the organizations that we fund, which is yet another way to thank those who put their lives on the line for our nation and freedom.

The Patriots Initiative is founded on the following core values:
Honor American Patriotism and Service to Country: We respect all Americans who wear our country's uniform and honor the sense of duty and sacrifice that our service members have accepted. We will support them in times of peace and peril alike with our charitable financial resources, talents and time.

Act Selflessly: No work done by The Patriots Initiative is for the personal benefit or financial gain of its volunteer leaders, staff or donors. All contributions of resources, talents and time are dedicated to the benefit of the nation's military service members, wounded warriors, veterans, and their families.

Respect Others/Collaborate:
We celebrate our nation's diversity and vast resources. We believe that respect for colleagues, partners, donors and the nonprofit service providers is the primary driver of successful, positive relationships and outcomes.
Integrity and Excellence: We understand the importance of our mission and the trust that our partners place in The Patriots Initiative. We honor that trust by acting with transparency and integrity.

Act Nationally, Regionally and Locally: We believe that it is the focused commitment, not the geographic range of the work nor the size of the operations of our partners, which is the most important determinant of its value.

Do The Right Thing: The Patriots Initiative is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct and transparency. The reputation of this initiative is the cornerstone of its ability to act and to serve its mission. We are capable, careful, responsible stewards of the resources provided by our donors.

Current Roster for 2019-2020 Season

The San Diego Wolfpack is the championship-winning adaptive sports team supported by Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. This military wheelchair basketball team currently includes active duty and veteran players from the U.S. Army, Marine Corps and Navy. While these heroes have sustained life-changing injuries such as amputations, spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries, they don’t represent disabilities – only possibilities.

The Wolfpack was established in 2012 by the Health and Wellness department at Naval Medical Center San Diego. A group of recovering service members, led by U.S. Marine Corps Corporal Josue Barron, who lost his left leg and left eye due to a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, requested a therapeutic outlet that would provide the camaraderie and sense of purpose they had experienced while serving. The Wolfpack was born, and today is ranked 6th nationally in Division I by the National Wheelchair Basketball Association.

The Wolfpack is more than just a program – it is a belief that warriors are not defined by their injuries, but by their spirit. They are an inspiration and a revelation to all who watch them play. The Wolfpack has enabled its players to improve their mental health, physical health and self-confidence by creating a peer group that focuses on what can be achieved – not what has been lost. Most importantly, the Wolfpack provides injured service members with the sense of meaning, purpose and teamwork that was the foundation of their military service.

0fsFreedom Station will be the leader in providing temporary lodging facilities, as well as educational and career guidance to our Nation’s injured and disabled military heroes who are medically retired or discharged. We will aid them as they begin the transition from defenders of freedom to productive members of America’s civilian work force. Freedom Station will also enable personal interaction between our military Warriors and uniquely qualified volunteers and professionals who can assist them with many of the challenges they will face during the transition to civilian life.

We vow to be the hand up and not a hand out. The Board of Directors of Freedom Station would like to thank you for your contributions toward making Freedom Station a reality. Your support allows us to help serve those who have so bravely and selflessly served and defended us.
